Director

Cathy Stange

I received my BS in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University "many moons ago." I started out in the field of Social work and Child Protection Services. Years later I was blessed to open and run a home child care business for the next 10 yrs as I raised my children. I have been the director of LALC since 2007; I consider working with children and families to be a passion of mine and thoroughly believe that ours is a business of building relationships. Diversity is of the utmost importance to us and It is my job to make sure each family that comes through our doors feels safe, connected, empowered and respected.

Assistant Director &

Lead KinderGarten Prep Teacher

Jamilee Xiong

I received my degree in Early Childhood Education from Harding University in Arkansas. After graduating in 2004, I taught English at China Three Gorges University in Yichang, China for two years. I accepted the Lead Teacher position at LALC in February of 2007 and added the duties as the Assistant Director later that year.

I find a lot of joy in teaching young children and working together with their families. I truly believe that the first five years of a child's life play a significant part in the person they will become as an adult. I believe that learning is and should be fun and exciting. I love to see that light bulb go off and the child’s face to light up when they’ve just achieved something new! Learning should be a “want to” not a “have to”. Nurturing a child’s curiosity and creativity is a passion of mine.

Lead Infant Teacher

 Kayle Osterhaus

Brooklyn, Georgia and Kaylee have been with us throughout the pandemic.  They stepped up to help during a challenging time and  have loved our babies as their own.  We feel very blessed at LALC to have them.

Mid August of 2022, Brooklyn and Georgia will move upstairs to our PK 1 room to CO Lead our PK 1 classroom.  Kaylee will then lead our infant room for the year.

Lead Young Toddler Teacher

Jolie Hutchens

I am originally from Napa Valley California. I have two daughters. We have lifelong friends from Iowa and when we came to visit my daughters decided they wanted to go to College out here. I followed them about 3 years ago. I am very happy to be here! I love exploring Iowa and all the charming towns. I love antiquing, reading, spending time with my girls. I went to Napa Valley College and graduated with a certificate in Early Childhood Education. I have been working with children for over 25 years now. I first started with Infants and Toddlers and have my Master Teacher Permit with a specialization in Infant/Toddler Growth and Development. I have worked with children from Infants through School age but the majority of it has been Toddlers through Preschool age. Working with one year olds the past several years has renewed my passion for teaching! I am very proud and honored to be a part of their learning process. I believe in each child being treated according to their individual needs.

I feel open communication and a partnership with parents is vital to ensuring that each child has the best possible experience in child care! I also believe in having a sense of humor because that has helped me in just about every situation in life! :)

I look forward to getting to know each of your children and all of you as well! I am very excited to be part of the "Little Angels" team since June of 2012!

Lead Older Toddler Teacher

Danni Joveski

Ms. Danni has been with our LALC family since February of 2015. She started with us as an assistant teacher but quickly graduated to a Lead. We always say that she is wise beyond her years. Her instinct for her children's needs are right on point. She is calm and patient which is exactly what every two yr old needs!

Working at LALC has inspired Ms Danni to go back to college in the education field. She is a gift to LALC; her parents and children love her!

Lead Preschool Prep Teacher

Brooklyn Sankot & Georgia Page

Brooklyn & Georgia are excited to lead the PK 1 room over the next few years.

Brooklyn is working on her undergraduate degree in Teaching. Many of her classes are online which works great for being able to spend quality time with our children. Brooklyn is nurturing, compassionate and organized. The children bond quickly to her and we all know how important that is for the early years.

Georgia also has a wealth of experience and is working on her undergraduate degree. She is specializing in political science, black studies and social work. She is energetic, positive and gentle hearted just like Brooklyn.

Both young lades schedules work so that you will have either one of them at all times in the classroom.  These ladies have a passion for teaching and completely understand the impact their work has on our littles. These two teachers are the dynamic duo in my opinion, and they bring such life to any space they occupy!

Lead Preschool Teacher

Ms Amanda Nelson

We have been very lucky to find Ms Amanda. She has over 25 years of experience working in early childhood. She creates a kind, supportive and loving environment for our littles to thrive in. Each day is a new adventure of learning. Classroom management as well as creating a fun and creative learning environment is one of Amanda's strengths.  All of the Children love her and are happy to see her each day.
